Introduction

GEOKC is based on the intense bhakti bhava of the religious site of the holy city of Mathura, where Lord Krishna was born and spent his childhood days in Vrindavan. This journey began with the thought of locating international branches of GEOKC around the world for the purpose of spreading Shri Krishna Bhakti to all of our devotees at these locations:

  • United States

  • India

  • Canada

  • United Kingdom

  • Names of other countries coming soon

The full name of GEOKC is Global Expansion of Krishna Community, which means India is the origin of the organization, and the branches of GEOKC can be located in many different parts of the world. This is the first step for GEOKC to introduce our devotional programs, specifically one activity named The Activity of Sravana Bhakti of Sri Krishna Lilas, to all its participants on an international level. This activity is an attractive feature of our devotional programs and is related to the first activity of Bhakti Yoga (Sravana Bhakti) for the purpose of giving the right direction or path to all participants of GEOKC. Sravana is hearing of God’s Lilas and includes God’s virtues, glories, sports, and stories connected with His divine name and form.

In Sravana Bhakti, the devotee gets absorbed in the hearing of divine stories, and his or her mind merges with the thought of divinity; it cannot think of un-divine things. The mind loses, as it were, its charm for the world. Even in dream time, devotees just remember God.

GEOKC is dedicated to Lord Krishna and specially grateful to all participants who join our devotional programs and listen to the Lilas (divine play) of Lord Krishna by Pujya Guruji, the Main Head Guruji of GEOKC, directly from the Bhagavata Purana. The only goal of this step is the spiritual upliftment of an individual, which means being taken out of the cycle of life and death (samsara).

History

Global Expansion of Krishna Community (GEOKC) is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit temple organization established in 2008 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. GEOKC established its geographic expansion and popularization only through the devotional services of Bhakti Yoga. The Minnesota branch is the first branch of GEOKC, but in the near future, other branches of GEOKC will be located in many other states and other countries, including India.

GEOKC is a new vaishnava bhakti movement, and its main goal is to build a history related to Hinduism and its beliefs and practices. In the Srimad-Bhagavatam and the Vishnu Purana (two great Hindu sacred texts), it is said that there are nine forms of bhakti. Though GEOKC describes and conducts most of the activities of bhakti yoga, it specifically starts and promotes the first activity of Sravana Bhakti (which means hearing of God’s virtues, glories, sports, and stories connected with His divine name and form) direct from Srimad-Bhagavatam. GEOKC is only dedicated (as the first and last deity) to our supreme lord, named Lord Krishna (join the Sravana Bhakti of Shri Krishna Lilas on Sunday afternoon Satsang activities).

GEOKC is typically a temple-related religious and educational organization and was established to offer specifically bhakti-related services and knowledge of Hinduism to all of its audiences on all levels with a significant meaning. The branches of GEOKC are also called the International Prayer Centers of GEOKC. These prayer centers (each center includes all parts of GEOKC facilities) are full of beautiful colored images (icons) of Radha-Krishna and other unique architectural works (GEOKC Architecture History). These images were specially created for worshipping purposes and also to focus on seeing Lord Krishna (Lord Krishna with his consort Shrimati Radharani) as Lila Avatar (the divine play of Lord Krishna) to give a significant meaning of His divine play to His devotees.

Goal

Our goal is to create a strong and respectful faith-based community with higher values through our devotional programs and services on national and international levels. GEOKC is working in many areas to recognize and understand the true meaning of life and how to lead a purposeful life through love and devotion for the services of the supreme god known as Lord Krishna (join the activities of Sravana Bhakti of Shri Krishna Lilas on Sunday afternoon Satsang Activities to Sravana the Lilas of Lord Krishna from Pujya Guruji).

GEOKC is successfully moving forward to fulfill its goal of spreading the light of Krishna Bhakti all around the world. All of our bhakti programs and services are related to our socio-cultural values, present eastern and western culture, Hinduism, and our faith-based religious needs. We invite everyone (Hindus) to be a part of GEOKC and join its programs and services to learn about our Hindu faith and also our belief in Lord Krishna in a significant manner. Through our unique programs, our non-profit is making a new impression on all devotees to give a significant meaning (to discover something new or as a symbol) to bhakti, and this is our goal and mission. Our goal also includes our GEOKC logo symbol, GEOKC architecture history (which influenced the International Prayer Centers of GEOKC), and Gopinath Bhakti Ashram to perfectly define the meaning of GEOKC.

Mission

GEOKC is a faith-related non-profit organization that was established for one purpose: our bahkti to Lord Krishna and spreading the light of the Hindu faith. Our mission is to create a community with significant meaning. Devotees will develop their spiritual, religious, and educational lives by joining our Bhakti Yoga programs. We provide bhakti-related services to all individuals, families, communities, and societies living anywhere and all around the world on local, state, national, and international levels, inviting them to be a part of our organization.

Through our devotional programs and services, GEOKC supports the practice of Hinduism. Through these programs and services, GEOKC is trying to express devotion in a significant manner and make a link between our devotees and Lord Krishna. In our programs, the complete life sketch of Lord Shri Krishna, as included in the activity of Sravana Bhakti of Shri Krishna Lilas, includes all of His Lilas (beginning from his birth and ending with His last Lila, the time His spirit left for heaven), and we are conducting this activity permanently. All parts of His Lilas are beautifully explained in this spiritual discourse, and only by Pujya Guruji, the Main Head Guruji of GEOKC. This activity specifically expresses our devotion to Lord Krishna and is one of the attractive features of our devotional programs. After joining this activity, all participants really feel the joy of deep love (devotion), which never ends.
